Different Types Of Welding Methods Used For Steel.

Loading

Steel is widely used in construction, manufacturing, and many other industries; without steel, these industries can not flourish owing to the fact that the main element in these industries is steel. The fact that steel is immensely strong and has quite a great amount of durability is the main precursor of making the use of steel essential in the construction domain. Steel is used to make high-rise buildings or even small ones stand still for a long time. The reason for the use of steel in the manufacturing field is its strength and durability and the point that it is cost-effective compared to other materials. For making machines, distinct types of equipment, or in many automobile parts, steel is used. Hence, steel plays a pivotal role.

However, if we talk about the construction field, steel is not directly used; firstly, steel is welded. This is done in order to form joints that are extremely strong enough, as only because of this can they withstand the load. Therefore, using welded steel for construction is the most practical option. Different welding methods are used in steel plants.

Different welding methods

Metal Inert Gas Welding

Under this method, an electric arc is used to melt the wire electrode. A shielding gas is also used to protect the metal from being contaminated. This method is quite common in the current era. It is simple: there is no need to have any advanced machinery for this. You can witness this method being used in many home improvement and automobile industries. In welding, the material is melted and then joined at high temperatures.

Tungsten Inert Gas Welding

A non-consumable tungsten electrode is used for this method. Shielding gas is used to protect the weld area and electrode. The gas is either argon or helium. This frame is used the most for making frames on doors and motorcycles. Even in the aerospace and aviation industry, this technique is perfect to be used.

Laser welding

This method is expensive, which is why there is a bit less preference for this method. In order to produce heat, which is quite common in the welding process, a laser or an electron beam is used. However, one thing that matters in this process is that there is always a need for some advanced machinery to perform this; without that, it will not be possible to perform this process. In the iron steel industry, where there is a requirement for detailed work, then this technique is preferred.

Stick welding

When you are not able to opt for laser welding as it is expensive, then you can go for stick welding. Under this, just a stick is there, which is used for creating welds. However, one astonishing thing is that there is no use of any shielding gas in this technique, but no need to worry as the flux that is used to cover the electrode stick does the same work.

When the whole steel-making process is performed, the work of welding the metal is done. Wanting  high-quality steel for your work, BK Steel company is the choice. We do not compromise on quality, as our main motive is to satisfy the clients.
